Character Corner

The Wake County Public School System has adopted eight specific traits to summarize key principles in Character Education:

  • September - Responsibility
     
  • October - Respect
     
  • November - Courage
     
  • December - Kindness
     
  • January - Self Discipline
     
  • February - Integrity
     
  • March - Perseverance
     
  • April - Good Judgment
     
  • May - Review of Traits and highlight Citizenship & Service Learning

Each month at Sanderson, a different character trait is highlighted. Students exhibiting this character trait are nominated by teachers and the students receive awards that are prepared by the PTSA Character Education Committee.

On the first Wednesday morning of each month, the Character Education Committee gathers to prepare the Kudos awards for the students. If you would like to participate on the Character Education Committee, please email Eileen Buch.
