2008-2009 Officer Nominations
It's that time once again to turn our thoughts toward electing officers to serve
for the coming year. The nomination period for officers will be open until
the end of April. The voting will take place at the general membership
meeting in May. Terms begin on July 1, 2008 and end on June 30, 2009.
The only requirements are a desire to assist and current PTSA membership.
Please feel free to nominate yourself! If you are nominating someone else,
please check with them first to be sure they want to be nominated.
Our continued success is dependent on you!
Positions available are:
- President Elect
- Vice President - Programs
- Vice President - Communication
- Vice President - Ways and Means
- Vice President - Fundraising
- Secretary
- Treasurer

today by filling out the form below and clicking the Submit button.
Description of Duties Secretary
- Attend all meetings (Board, general membership,
executive committee) which is generally on the first Monday of the month,
but those dates can vary as determined by the executive board at the
beginning of the year.
- Take minutes from each meeting.
- Send the minutes via e-mail to the board members
- Create and maintain a list of officers, committee
members, and other board members, with e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and
other contact information.
- Collect monthly committee reports and distribute them
via e-mail along with the minutes prior to each meeting so that they can be
reviewed for corrections.
- Send out reminders about upcoming meetings.
- Keep in touch with other PTSA communications groups
regarding general PTSA announcements
- Communicate with board members or members of the
Sanderson community as needed or as requested by the president (Yahoo
Group, Website, and Newsletter do the majority of this – secretary does more
individual or Board communication)
- Assist the president with miscellaneous tasks
involving written communication.
Treasurer
- Develop a budget with input from committee chairs and
executive officers
- Update bank signature cards
- Manage the funds by keeping accurate records through
Quicken or other accounting software
- Receive all monies for all accounts and promptly
deposit into the PTSA checking account at local bank
- Pay all bills by check as authorized. Two signatures
are required for all checks.
- Forward all national and state dues to the state PTA
at times designated
- Reconcile the bank statement(s) monthly
- Issue a report to the Association at scheduled
meetings
- Have records available for any questions
- Preserve all historical records as required by the
National PTA records retention policy
- Arrange for an annual audit as required by the
Association
- Transfer all records to the incoming Treasurer in a
timely manner
