Reflections 2007-2008
Students, start now to plan your entry for the 2007-2008 National PTA Reflections program. This year's theme is "I can make a difference by..." You can enter in the following categories: Film/video production, dance/choreography, Musical composition, Photography, Visual arts (no 3-D), and Literature. More information will be available at the start of the new school year, but this summer, as you perhaps encounter different experiences -- take that picture, write that story, film your travels – share your experiences and your creativity! Read more about the Reflections program at www.pta.org The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. Reflections provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education. Entry forms for this year’s Reflections program will be available from Mr. Green this Friday, October 25. The deadline for entries at Sanderson is December 7. Students may enter in the categories of Film/Video, Dance /Choreography, Photography, Literature, Visual Art, and Musical Composition. Be sure to get a copy of the Rules when you pick up your entry form. This year’s theme is “I Can Make a Difference by….” Any student wishing to enter the theme search for 2009-2010 should have their theme search form in to Mr. Green by November 9. All forms must be signed by your parent or guardian.

The Sanderson PTSA Reflections Committee is pleased to announce that the following have had their work selected from Sanderson to advance to the council level: Megan Kern - Visual Art Congratulations to all! Sanderson Reflections winners to advance to District level Congratulations to Jessica Jones and Elizabeth Bryant whose Reflections entries have not only won at the council level, but have just been selected as two of the 24 entries to advance from Wake County PTA Council to the District level. Jessica’s Dance/Choreography entry, “I Dream of Peace”, took first place in the Senior Division at council level, and Elizabeth’s Film/Video entry, “Butterfly Effect 101” took second place in the Senior film division. Completed entries should be submitted to the NC PTA office no later than November 15, 2007.
